(in advance, I hope i'm posting this in the correct topic, but let me tell you this is posted with a lot of love)

Hi folks, good greetings to you all!

Time flies! It's been a looong time since I've been around playing Beruwen the hunter in GoH. I have been wondering how Lotro has been faring these days. And ofcourse how GoH is doing aswell! Good news you are still around, and I see familiar names still remain.

So I decided to install the game again and logged in, only to find out that my whole account is gone. After some research, it happens to be the case that Codemasters dropped the axe and Turbine took over. Apparently there has been a period of 6 months to transfer, which ofcourse I've never seen a single email of. Sad pandaface :( Scouring the forums I found out that it is unrecoverable.. databases gone etc.

So a week of cursing and shouting 'i'll never play this turd again, [insert badmouth words] company blabla etc!' went by and then curiosity took over and I decided to give it a try with a new character (Loremaster 'Beruval'), doing the whole completionist thing trying to gather Turbine points to buy back the stuff I paid good money for a while ago.

So, to the point! Two questions:

- Is it even remotely possible to try and do this? Back in the days I had a VIP sub and never really looked into the whole F2P thing. For the time being, I'm not able to spend 15eu each month on a game (something with economic state of affairs i'm afraid)

- Is it possible for me to get a spot back into GoH? It would be nice to have some familiar chitchat around and maybe do some instances or fellowships. I have to be fair and square by saying i'm not so sure i'll ever be a raider (again) in any way, and will be playing very casual. I'm about to move in with my girlfriend and still busy on completing my Psychology studies. So it will be a long term project playing Lotro again, but the first few hours kind of dragged me in again ;)

Hope to hear from you,

(beruwen, now beruval)

First of all : Hey Beru! :D

It is possible to buy everything with tp, but it requires a ton of work..Since you get about 5-20 tp per deed you do
One tip though is to buy a month of subscription, and then cancel it.
By doing that you get some of the benefits that vip gets, and it sticks with you after the sub is going away. Think it is trait slots and other small stuff, not quest packs however.

There is probably some guides and such that you can find on the magical land know as the interwebz, that will show you what you need to do and so, regarding getting the turbine points and that.

On the part of coming into the kin again, post an application on this site, and then somebody will respond :D

Hi Beru, We haven't met but I too am coming back to lotro. I originally started after codemasters had gone so my old account is still around, although I am considering starting a fresh account instead. Part of the reason for that thinking is to not have so many alts. I never made much progress cos I kept swapping alts last time. LOL. I've never done a raid or owt cos I never wanted to group up.

Anyway just wanted to say hi and welcome really :)

Thank you all for the welcoming replies. I look forward to speaking with you in game.

However, I'll be on holiday to Eastern Germany untill October 2. So you won't be seeing me much untill then. I'll be online today though.

I love to use Wine when I am cooking. Sometimes, I even put some of it in the food.

Hey Beru:)

Nice you're joining us again. I won't be around much, but will be hopping in and out when raids are organised!

I too have returned after a longer than expected period of absence, exploring the galaxy. How is everybody? Have I missed much?! :)
